In the mid-1970s, Southern California native Dennis Maroney set up a t-shirt booth on the world famous Venice, CA Boardwalk, and began to airbrush one-of-a-kind t-shirts for the tourists and other beachgoers. Shortly thereafter, the demand for Dennis' airbrushed tees increased, and he realized that he needed more space and a better facility in which to work, so he moved his operation to an artist loft in Downtown Los Angeles.

Soon Dennis was taking orders for large quantities of hand-airbrushed tees, so he found it necessary to hire additional artists to handle the volume, and L.A. Air Line® was born.

Now with over thirty years in the business, in addition to continuing to provide airbrush and stencil art services, the artists at L.A. Air Line® have developed many methods of applying pigment to garment, and the list of techniques utilized in production at L.A. Air Line® has grown to include paint spraying/splattering/splashing/dripping/brushing; dip dye; foiling; along with various types of other hand-panting methods, including the stamping and rolling of complex patterns using hand-carved printing implements; as well as expert water-based and plastisol silkscreen printing on almost all types of garments.

As a printing services/hand-painting contractor to the garment industry, L.A. Air Line's clients have included: True Religion, 7 For All Mankind, Lucky Brand, Ed Hardy, E5H, Ever, Juicy Couture, Urban Outfitters, Splits:59, and many other top names in contemporary fashion.

L.A. Air Line® has also developed its own line of women's individually hand painted/silkscreened tops, handmade in our 20,000 square foot Los Angeles production facility, and available direct to you!
